Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who teaches your writing classes? Why?

A: Lisa teaches the classes because she enjoys sharing her knowledge about story. She has a MFA in Creative Writing from Chatham University. She has been teaching writing since 2015.

Q: I’m frightened. Do I need to share my work.

A: The only classes where you’re required to share writing with fellow students are clearly stated. In most classes you won’t need to share. Also, many writers are in the same position as you. For example, I read a post recently (June 2024) from a long-time, accomplished, traditionally published author that stated, “I feel like an imposter…” This author is NOT an imposter. which just goes to show you, any writer can feel like their writing isn’t good enough (that doesn’t mean it is true).

Q: How much writing experience do I need to take your classes?

A:  None. You only need the desire to write.

Q: What if I don’t know what I want to learn to write or don’t know what genre I am writing in?

A: No worries. Many students don’t know where to begin. You can take our Creative Writing 101 class to learn the basics of story and different types of creative writing. Likewise, our Fiction Writing I class delves into writing all types of fiction stories – from romance, sci-fi, and horror – to mystery, thriller, and beyond.
